Dr. Nowrozy Kamar Jahan is a physician researcher of the South East Asia Community Observatory (SEACO) and an academic in the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University Malaysia.
She is a public health specialist. Prior to joining SEACO, Monash University, she was the Team Leader of the Maternal Health Program in the Mayer Hashi (Smiling Mother) project of EngenderHealth, Bangladesh. She strategically planned technical assistance to local public, private sector and NGO partners to improve the quality of maternal, adolescent and child services, and to translate the researches on evidence based best practices into action.
Her research interest mainly focuses on population and reproductive health. She has a Ph.D. in Demography and Master’s in Reproductive Health from the Institute for Population and Social Research (IPSR), Mahidol University, Thailand. She has worked as a post doctoral research fellow in a collaborative project of University of Malaya, Malaysia and Queen’s University of Belfast, United Kingdom.
